Terms of Service

1. What CarFlip is

CarFlip provides software tools that help people describe, photograph, score and share vehicle listings, and that deliver buyer inquiries to sellers. CarFlip is not the seller or buyer of any vehicle and is not a dealer, broker, lender, insurer, inspector, title agency, escrow service, or party to any transaction between users. Any sale, payment, inspection, title transfer or delivery happens directly between the people involved.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create a CarFlip account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your credentials confidential, and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

3. Listing content is yours

Everything in a CarFlip listing — vehicle details, mileage, title status, condition, disclosures, service history, price and photographs — is supplied by the user who created the listing. CarFlip generates listing text and a CarFlip Score from those answers. CarFlip does not verify vehicle condition, ownership, history, mileage accuracy, lien status or the truth of any statement in a listing.

By submitting content you confirm you have the right to publish it, and you grant CarFlip a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. You may unpublish or delete your listings at any time; cached or shared copies outside CarFlip are beyond our control.

4. The CarFlip Score

The CarFlip Score measures how complete and buyer-ready a listing is. It is a deterministic score based on the information the seller has entered. It is not an appraisal, inspection, valuation, condition rating, safety assessment or certification of any vehicle, and it must not be presented to buyers as one.

5. Buyer and seller responsibility

Buyers are responsible for their own due diligence, including independent inspection, history reports, verification of title and lien status, test drives and confirmation of price. Sellers are responsible for disclosing what they know about the vehicle and for complying with the laws of their state, including title transfer, odometer disclosure, emissions and any applicable dealer licensing rules. CarFlip does not mediate, guarantee, escrow or refund transactions.

6. Prohibited use

• Posting false, misleading, stolen, curbstoned or duplicate listings.
• Listing vehicles you do not own or are not authorized to sell.
• Concealing salvage, flood, rebuilt, lemon-law or branded title status.
• Rolling back or misstating odometer readings.
• Fraud, phishing, wire-transfer scams, or fake escrow and shipping schemes.
• Harassing other users, or using inquiry forms for spam or bulk solicitation.
• Scraping, automated data extraction, or attempts to bypass access controls.
• Uploading malware, or photographs you do not have the right to use.

We may remove content, unpublish listings, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for other users.

7. No warranty

CarFlip is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listing, buyer or seller is accurate, legitimate or trustworthy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CarFlip and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from a vehicle transaction, a user's conduct, or reliance on listing content. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case those limitations apply only to the extent permitted.

9. Pricing and paid features

CarFlip Basic is currently free. CarFlip Plus and CarFlip Business plans are planned and are described on our pricing page as such. No payment is charged today. If paid features launch, pricing and payment terms will be presented before any charge.

10. Changes and termination

We may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. You may stop using CarFlip and delete your account at any time.
